THE PAST
Between 2013-2014, I went from working at Pixar, to Google, to a local pie shop in my neighborhood in San Francisco. My grandma was worried. “Who goes from Pixar and Google to a pie shop?!” she asked me on the phone one day, the concern in her voice palpable.
I went from Pixar to Google to a pie shop. And I’m so glad I did. I moved to Los Angeles in 2014 to work for a development executive at Disney Junior, and when I asked him how my resume caught his eye over all of the others, he replied, “Nobody else had a pie shop on their resume.”
THE PRESENT
I recently took to TikTok to talk about how I navigated my way into the entertainment industry, and, more recently, into the worlds of social media marketing and career consulting. After sharing my work experiences with countless virtual strangers, Career Chats was born.
It’s been such a treat to get to connect with folks all over the world who are in need of some guidance as they navigate a career struggle of their own. Whether you’re looking to break into the entertainment industry, or maybe transition out of it, I’m here to help.
