BRAVE TRAILS
THE BRIEF
I spent the summer of 2023 working as a Social Media Manager for a LGBTQ+ youth camp called Brave Trails. I was tasked with capturing the queer joy at camp and sharing it on Brave Trails’ social media accounts to 1) share camp activities with friends and families at home, and 2) spread awareness of the camp to encourage enrollment for future sessions.
THE solution
I focused much of the summer’s content on TikTok, where I was able to tap into trends to boost views and engagement. My favorite TikTok used a trending sound (“I’m Just a Kid” by Simple Plan) to showcase a picture of one of the counselors when he was a camper back in 2016.
THE RESULTS
As of today, the video has 467.5K views.
